Designing a moment of calm
in a public commuter pathway
About this project
Wynscreen (a unique 20m by 3m curved screen) was designed as a dedicated platform to improve and enhance the commuter experience within Wynyard Station in Sydney’s Central Business District.
30,000 commuters pass by every day.
We created Woven Moments, an abstract expressionistic animation designed to help restore balance and a sense of calm in the tense and frenetic environment of a commuter pathway in the central business district.
Heraclitean motion mimics motion found in nature that are closely associated with safety and tranquility, triggering a ‘relaxation response’ in viewers.
In this layered complexity of abstract ecosystems, our senses are engaged to explore, encouraging curiosity through visual fascination and connection with place, space and time.
Wynscreen is a first of its kind in scale and function in Australia.
